Characters
Ralph represents law and order, civilization and rules. He uses his role as leader to try and help benefit the group but no one listens to him. He also represents one of the main themes in the story which is ''The Need For Civilization.'' Without civilization and rules, things go out of hand. Ralph is mature and reasonable while jack is reckless, he does not think for the future and only does things for fun.
Events
On page 166-167 Ralph and jack argue who is the better leader. Ralph points out that a storm is coming and that jack and his tribe is unprepared for the storm. Jack tells everyone to start dancing and they all go into a frenzy dancing and playing.
